Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company (Kazakhstan Railways), Transmashholding (TMH) and LocoTech-Signal (part of the Ctrl2GO Group) have signed a roadmap of joint projects aimed at technological development, improvement of traffic safety and transportation process efficiency.
The document was signed by Batyr Kotyrev, Managing Director and Chief Engineer of Kazakhstan Railways, Mikhail Rozhkov, TMH Technical Director, and Andrey Romanchikov, CEO of LocoTech-Signal.
"It is an important step demonstrating clear compliance with previously signed strategic agreements and a planned transition to the implementation of specific projects. The railways need the technologies that will be introduced as part of the roadmap and, thanks to the integration of locomotive and infrastructure components, these technologies will help to increase the transportation efficiency," said Andrey Romanchikov. "We thank the leadership of JSC NC KTZ for their trust, openness to innovation and focus on fruitful cooperation."
The roadmap stages include a set of solutions for the development, testing of rolling stock and introduction of innovative technological solutions. As Batyr Kotyrev stressed, they plan to carry out the integration of onboard locomotive systems by introducing a single "e-card", which will create a single architecture of security and automatic train operation systems.
The document envisions the improved safety of railway traffic by way of integrating the MPC-S microprocessor centralization with the integrated functions of semi-automatic and automatic blocking and automation of level crossing signaling systems.
